What is the difference between a Basic TV Installation, a Premium, and a Custom TV Installation?

Here at Music Evolution / Evolution Installs we make sure our clients have a clear understanding of what each job entails.

In order to answer this question, we decided to make it easy by showing you an illustration of the difference between a Basic and a Premium TV Installation.

TV INSTALLATION TYPE:	Before	During	After	Comments:
BASIC				Wires/cables are left exposed or optional wire mold is used to hide wires/cables.

CUSTOM	Example 1: Example 2:			Custom Installations typically require some degree of customization to wall structure in order to complete installation to our quality standards. This type of installation requires cutting through drywall, drilling through and/or customizing wood structure or other material, in order to complete installation, hide wires/cables, or to install an electric outlet directly behind the TV. Frequently asked questions:

1. Why can’t I just run the power cord through the wall and connect via an extension cord to the nearest AC outlet?

The power cord included with your television does not meet standards for high voltage through interior walls. If you don’t have an AC outlet available behind your intended location we can install one for an extra fee.

2. Can the TV power cord be ran inside wall cavity like the audio video wires and cables?

No. The power cord included with your television does not meet standards for high voltage through interior walls. In other words, running AC power cords through wall cavity is against national electric code. Power cord included with your television does not meet standards for high voltage, therefore it poses possible fire hazards.

3. We have a recessed Fireplace and no existing electric outlet above mantle. The closest ac outlet is to the left of fireplace about 6 feet away, does this fall under a custom installation?

Yes, this type of installation is considered a custom installation. In order to install an ac outlet above mantle, we would have to cut through drywall and drill through wood frame structure in order to run metal conduit for electric lines. After this procedure and after electric outlet is in place above mantle, patching, sanding and painting will be required in order to complete installation to our quality standard.
